Society+ Review | Jessica Kane Plus Size Skater Dress

Would you like some wine with your LBD? Don’t mind if I do! Last summer I checked out the new online store, Society+, since I’m always on the lookout for retailers who carry larger plus sizes. I bought a lavender tutu that still makes me happy. Now, I’m thrilled to try this color block skater dress that they offer up to size 32! What I love about Society+ is they hand measure all of their clothes to determine sizing, so there’s no such thing as one of their garments running too big or too small. Also, the description of each item includes its “stretch factor.” This was handy for me with this dress because its a size smaller than I usually wear, and it still fits!

Winter is winding down, and a sleeveless skater dress is a great wear now/wear later piece for spring. It looks great bundled up or on its own, and if you’re looking for something in brighter colors, check out the teal and white colorway!

Thanks again to Jessica Kane and the whole crew at Society+ for letting me check out this dress. It will be a wardrobe staple for seasons to come!

It feels so good to get back to blogging! (If you know where this post’s title comes from, we might be best friends.) I took some much needed time to reevaluate what I want this website to be, and I have so much to share with all of you! Of course, I’ll still send many, many retro outfits your way as well as shopping advice for larger sizes, but I’m giving into my craftier inclinations and adding knitting into the mix! Soon, you’ll see many of my projects in progress before they’re ready to be part of my OOTD. In fact, the infinity scarf I’m wearing here is made by yours truly. When possible, I will link to the patterns I used, and eventually I’ll be writing some of my own. I found the pattern for this scarf on Ravelry. If you knit or crochet, definitely become a member of this site because they offer a lot of patterns and advice for free. Frosty mornings are few and far between here in Louisiana, so I’m glad I have this cozy cowl to keep me warm even though I don’t get to wear it often.

Thank you for returning to this little corner of the internet, and I’m ready for us to have fun all over again!

junebugs-dress-squirrel-full-2 copyHappy October! Even though the trees look green behind me, there’s no denying it’s finally fall. It’s been a while since I’ve worn a novelty print, so this squirrel print dress from Pinup Girl Clothing’s Junebugs and Georgia Peaches Collection is just what I needed. This is the second Junebugs dress I’ve worn on the blog – a few weeks ago I wore their pink and black Amanda Dress.

junebugs-dress-squirrel-med copyAre squirrels the new owls…or foxes? I’ve seen a quite a few squirrel prints and products here and there lately, and I’m not complaining – maybe it’s because they’re fall’s cutest scavengers. I wonder where all the squirrels were when I did this photo shoot because, dude, there were so many acorns!

Here are a few of my favorite squirrel things:
