Hi, everyone! It’s been a minute, right? While I’ve been busy moving, painting, decorating, and catching up on Game of Thrones, this little bloggy turned one year old! While I can’t wait to show you all the new outfits I’ve been planning and as well as some fun home decor DIYs, I thought I’d use my first post back to take a walk down memory lane. Because I’m a fan of “Top 5” lists (Thanks a lot, Nick Hornby!), here are my five favorite outfits of the last year. All of the outfit details are in the original posts.
Outfit #1: February 17th, 2014
This is the first post where I felt like I got an outfit right. The Literary Luncheon dress was my first ModCloth purchase, beginning a long and fashionable love affair. This outfit proves that leopard is a neutral, and the best accessories, like my purse, are often thrifted. There is a second outfit, but it was a swing and a miss, unless perhaps if you’re a Yankee’s fan. Check out the original post to see it.
Outfit #2: April 17th, 2014
Maybe one day I’ll get to thank Taylor Swift for introducing me to my all-time favorite dress (and of course for all the ear worms). I look for any excuse to wear the And Many More dress from ModCloth’s Mytlewood line. While it’s a perfect little sun dress, I’ve remixed it for cold weather, too. Don’t be surprised if you see this dress on the blog again!
Outfit #3: May 27, 2014
You all triple dog dared me, and I delivered! When I asked which spring trend I should try, you all picked “bare midriff.” This one made me nervous, but I settled on this cute navy and white top and skirt set from eShakti (now available in black). Since then my tummy has been all over the place! I’ve started to put the “belly” in my belly dance costumes, and I’ve even picked out a couple of bikinis for swimsuit season. Thanks for giving me this push I needed to show a little more skin!
Outfit #4: September 21, 2014
This outfit put me in the mood for fall. The plum color of the Emily and Fin “Too Much Fun” dress from ModCloth is the perfect autumn shade, and the Cambridge Satchel bag makes me think of back to school even though I’m so done with my education. Also, I need to find more reasons to wear a flower crown, don’t you agree?
Outfit #5: January 7, 2015
I wanted to kick 2015 off with some sparkle, and this eShakti sequin top had all the right bling! I paired it with some casual pieces to keep it wearable after New Year’s Eve, but I plan on styling it in a more formal outfit in the future, so stay tuned!
It’s been quite a year, that’s for sure! Thank you to all my readers whether you’ve been with me since the beginning or if you’re just finding out about this blog. As the weather warms up, I’ve planned lots of great spring outfits. Also, I have some creative home decor projects for your stylin’ space. Until then, I’ll keep workin’ and you all keep staying awesome!
