Is it too soon to think about Valentine’s Day? I mean, didn’t Christmas and New Years just happen? Maybe, but what I need on these gray winter days is a little pink in my life, so I was more than happy to wear this romantic outfit.
You’d think as a confirmed “singleton,” I’d be anti V-Day, and maybe in the past I have been, but now I’m much less cynical. Even though we can get caught up in the idea of romance, this holiday is a great reminder of love in its many forms, and I’ve got a lot of that in my life!
Lately, it seems to be a trend when I’m about ready to take outfit pics, something cool arrives in the mail that changes my plans. Yesterday, this new eye shadow palette showed up just as I was putting on my makeup!
You all know my love for Too Faced’s original Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow collection, and its Semi-Sweet baby sister is just as awesome – lots of great neutrals in mattes, shimmers, and sparkles! Truth be told, I was mostly excited about the “Blueberry Swirl” shade. Blue eye shadow has been a thing with me lately. I wore a similar color on my lids on New Years Eve.
(Makeup by Too Faced – Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection; Shadow Insurance Primer in Candlelight; 3*Way Lash Lining Tool; Better than Sex Mascara; Absolutely Flawless Concealer in Perfectly Nude/Medium; Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder; Primed and Poreless Powder; Lip Insurance Primer; Melted Lipstick in Velvet)
Blueberry Swirl was more gunmetal gray than blue on my eyelids, which was fine for coordinating with this outfit. Still, I’d like to try it wet to see if I can get a deeper, dark denim blue. This palette looks like it’ll be a lot of fun to play with, and it smells great since it’s made with cocoa powder. Another spur of the moment makeup choice was my lipstick, which showed up with the palette. Red goes with everything, right?
I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to wear this dress! The photo-print roses are very pop art while still being feminine. It’ll be wonderful transitional piece, too. I can see myself wearing it a lot in the spring.
