Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Long time, no outfit, right? I’m ready to kick 2015 off with some sparkle. Many of us have glittery things we bought for special occasions we wish we could wear more often. I ordered this custom made top from eShakti just a little bit too late to wear on New Years Eve. In fact, I had whole different outfit planned for today’s pictures, but when all these sequins showed up in the mail, I had a change of plans.

To be honest, I don’t go to many get-togethers that are super dressy. People tend to be more casual where I live whether it’s at work or a party. No complaints here; it’s definitely a less stressful way to be. However, it does mean my semi-formal and formal clothes rarely see the light of day (or night). While I’m not sure how you would wear a full on ballgown to the grocery store, even the fanciest of separates can be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe. It’s all about what you pair them with.

Not my bike...

Not my bike…

I like the idea of balancing something flashy with simple pieces: a classic white shirt, tried and true jeans, and a pair of black kitten heels. Sometimes it’s fun to be over-the-top with sparkle and color and wear “all the things” at once, but if you’re going for a polished look, toning down some parts of the outfit can even make something casual appear very put-together. Of course, I had to add some color with a statement necklace; I haven’t gone completely neutral.

Stay Gold 4As you may have noticed, I’m not in my backyard! Today I’m at a trailhead for a biking path that has a beautiful park area, and I plan to do more photo shoots here. I’m venturing out and taking pictures in public – although I still feel awkward about it, I’d rather face my awkwardness head on and get better pictures. I took these myself, but I have a few photo savvy friends who have volunteered to take some pics in the near future. Yay for guest photographers!

2015 is going to bring some exciting changes for me and for Super Style Me. As I mentioned in my last post, I’m going to be moving very soon, and I’ll show you how I’m going to decorate my new space complete with tutorials. Also, like many people, I’ve decided to be healthier this new year, and I’m trying out a gluten-free/dairy free diet. While this way of eating may not be for everyone (It might not even be for me!), I’m testing it to see if I feel better and less sluggish and blah. The fun part is I’ve been putting together some new recipes I’d like to share which I think you’ll enjoy even if you’re not on a limited diet. In addition, I’ll review workout wear that’s available above a size 24. I have never seen such a great selection of plus size activewear as I have this season, and I’m psyched to wear something to exercise in other than plain black yoga pants and a slept-in t-shirt. I’ve also decided to pay more attention to my YouTube channel, so I look forward to posting more fashion and beauty related videos there.

Cute outfit!! I recently ordered this top as well – customized with the longer peplum and cap sleeves. Yours looks fantastic, and I love the way you styled it. I can’t wait to get mine! 🙂

Thanks, Cassie! You won’t be disappointed when you get yours – it’s so sparkly! You always look great in eShakti 🙂

Unfortunately, this top didn’t work for me – it was too small in the arms, and wow, did I scratch my arms up the short time I was wearing it. Getting it sleeveless and layering it was definitely the way to go!!!

I loved how sparkly it is though and the bronzey sequins v. gold.
